Presentation

This is the thid edition of the school “Topics in complex dynamics at Universitat de Barcelona" (visit here the web page of the second edition). The event will take place at Institut d'Estudis Catalans (IEC), at the Nicolau Olwer room. The IEC is located at Carrer del Carme 47, Barcelona (map). (*)

Notice that the IEC is very close to Residencia d'Investigadors where all of you will be accomodated (see Accomodation). Also it is a 10 minutes walk to Plaça Universitat where the old building of Universitat de Barcelona (and the Facultat de Matemàtiques) is located.

The school is a CODY event, so we specially encourage all CODY fellows or young members of the CODY network to attend.

There will be three courses of 4.5 hours each. The courses are intended for graduate students or recent Ph.D’s, and cover important tools in complex dynamics, starting from an introductory level. The afternoons are reserved for student talks, where they may present their work, either finished or in progress.

This year the lecturers and the subjects are:

Arnaud Chéritat (Paul Sabatier University, France): Julia Sets of positive measure.

Robert Devaney (Boston University, USA): Singular perturbations of complex polynomials.

Pascale Roesch (Paul Sabatier University, France): Overview on Puzzles.

(*) For technical reasons we have only partial information of this event. The sever were the webside was allocated breaked down and the infomation got partially lost.
